richard_milner2 0 Posted February 13, 2004 Very characterful. Crop out the man facing out of the right edge of the picture. This will balance the composition and focus attention on the visual relationship between the waiter and the two seated customers. Link to comment
paolino_attanazzo 0 Posted February 13, 2004 good photo patricia!! I like it,Maybe better without the man on the right.... Link to comment
allonkira 0 Posted February 13, 2004 Just great! good composition that looks like was taken from an old movie. Link to comment
sogeri_pilpoil 0 Posted February 14, 2004 IMHO, I think Patricia couldn't cut the man on the right, the name on the right door shouldn't have its place on far right. But the feet of the kellner should help him to stand on properly... Wider lens, may be ? Paris ne serait jamais Paris sans ses terrasses. Dieu sait que j'y ai passé du temps... Link to comment
maxhaynes 0 Posted February 14, 2004 Okay, here's the crop, and another suggestion, leave the man but darken his tone and lighten theirs. Link to comment
patricia_eifel 0 Posted February 14, 2004 Thanks all for your suggestions. Actually, I have tried cropping the right side (not quite as much as above though). It is a different look but a bit too symetrical for my taste. I tend to like the figure almost reflected to the right. I admit, when I scanned in the neg for upload, I trimmed a bit more off the right side than usual which puts the figure on the right a little too close to the edge, I think. Link to comment
mnigro 0 Posted February 15, 2004 crop the guy on the right. lighten the background a bit. will give better balance. Link to comment
root 0 Posted February 15, 2004 I like your alternate crop. It addresses your concern about being overly symmetrical and allows for a reading of the sign. The back of the chair draws the eye which is then directed up towards the sign, menu, and other lighter background elements. Link to comment
