robertbrown 1 Posted February 12, 2004 Comments, ratings appreciated on toned church--thanks! Link to comment
matt_jackson3 0 Posted February 12, 2004 I'm a sucker for church shots. My only problem is with it is perhaps the overly white trim highlights and definitely the small defoliated tree sticking up just to the left of the church about even with the round window. Link to comment
ken krueger 0 Posted February 12, 2004 Your toning is exquiste. I wouldn't even have commented on this shot if it wasn't for your wonderfull tone. Link to comment
jeffrey_hitchens 0 Posted February 12, 2004 I'm trying to decide if this is too dark or not. Other than that in the background I like it a lot. Link to comment
jennifercatron 9 Posted February 12, 2004 You did a great job of getting this church to stand out. Beautifully done. Make sure you take a copy of this to the pastor of the church to hand up. It's funny how you get jobs, but people see your work, ask who did it, and word gets around. Nice work. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 12, 2004 After all of the comments from the above photographers with gobs more talent then I have, I hate to say something contrary to their opinions. Never one to shut up, I will anyway. I don't think the sky matches the shadow under the eves (sp?). The sky is very dark and the bright light falling on thee church from the upper LHC, don't seem to match the sky or the surrounding church grounds. Just my opinion, for me it is to dark. robertbrown 1 Posted February 12, 2004 Thanks for all of the comments. Matt, I agree about the small defoliated tree--it is annoying. I thought about cloning it out, but decided to leave it. I'll have to consider taking it out again. I agree that the white trim is awfully white. Michael, I did burn in the sky--I like dark skies. However, the light is coming directly at the front (south) of the church and it was sunny to the south. Light is also being refected off the highway (about 30 feet from the church) and the Columbia River (less than 100 feet from the church). Perhaps I will take a look at a lighter version of this.
