alecee 0 Posted February 10, 2004 Another look at this image in Sepia Tone. Critiques please Link to comment
cyb_wanderer 0 Posted February 10, 2004 It is often written in books that the subject should not be at the center of the picture. But here, I beleive this works well anyway having the impression of looking through a window. I love the tones as well. Very nice indeed. With kind regards Cyb from www.cybwanderer.com Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted February 10, 2004 I love it both ways. It is a beautiful image like many other you have in your portfolio: I went through it yesterday and I got really impressed. Thank for your nice comments, but please feel free to critique where it is necessary (only in this way we learn). Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 10, 2004 Alec, I like the window in the window effect. The muted colors don't really appeal to me but then I usually don't appreciate B&W either. I guess I'm a color type of person. In this case, on my monitor the photo is very cool. It gives me a far away feeling. Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted February 11, 2004 I love the muted tones in this. The sepia treatment worked perfectly. The lighting is just right, too. Everything works in this. Link to comment
mark_jordan3 0 Posted February 11, 2004 Alec,In my opinion one of your best posted pieces of work, the internal framing and tones are simply wonderful. Congratulations! Link to comment

alecee 0 Posted February 11, 2004 Wow! Wow! Wow. I'm really honored by all you distinguished guests on the list above who left such positive comments. I was actually very hesitant to post this picture and held it back 3 months after submitting the colored version. I was hoping that I don't receive comments like sending in rehashed materials. But the more I looked at the sepia tone image the more I felt that it can stand on it's own merits. I just love how the blue skirt turned into a light orange hue. You all made my day and I sincerely thank you. Link to comment
shoshanna_bettencourt 0 Posted February 11, 2004 It is a magical shot in any tone, but I have to say I like the original color, I find the skirt distracting in the orange tone. But it is a beautiful image that really comunicates the love that a family shares...espcially in hard times. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted February 12, 2004 Beautiful light, nice treatment of selective coloring, really has a nice ambiance. The composition takes getting used to since the sister is smack right in the middle of the frame, but then my eyes start to move to the baby, the dark window frame, and around, and around the image. 4 thumbs up, Alec! james_duthie 0 Posted February 12, 2004 Great shot, I like the use of the windows, I like to use doorway, windows alot as well. (no I'm new here so nun posted) I think the touch of color in the shirt is what makes the photo. It's not to strong as to distract. well done. Link to comment
kenneth_koh_2 0 Posted February 12, 2004 Hey - this is MUCH better than the other version. I am eagerly awaiting Turk's photos, perhaps they will "idicate" the psychopathology. Myanmar photos up (on this alternate site). Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted February 12, 2004 Please clearly type that up again, Kenneth Koh 2. I dont know about what u speak..Is that the rest of Alexanders masterpieces..which site...I am allowed to look, but not comment...as the king of photography ordained...Sorry, Alexander, Cantonese not being my mother tongue, the slang may have appeared inadvertantly....And BTW, Alexander, I didnt trash Bar Barts bridge, I said it was an excellent, but somewhat complex composition, which it is...And on Roberto Carlis image of Sienna I made one suggestion, to crop 5 bushes out on the right to make it more clear...I noticed u did not comment on any of those 2 shots.. Guess when u r in the firing line, u must just be waiting for praise....sorry..I give praise only when praise is due... Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted February 12, 2004 Hey Daniel Flyer.. How come u have rated 221 photos and only submitted 2 for my already done constructive comments..Not fair... Link to comment
