I thought this was Kent State. What year was this photo taken? The soldier's helmets, man's haircut, etc. look like about 1971?

same thought...echos of kent state - scary.

1970. It was a march on the Pentagon. Troops with fixed bayonets stopped the progression. The day included many arrests, a huge amount of tear gas used. Not a happy time, here or in Vietnam.

The scans not that great, but I do like the photo.

That really is a shocking way to police a demonstration. Wow!

At least the Guardsman hasn't got his finger on the trigger. Piss poor public relations though in the land of the free! The dude on the far right thinks its all a bit of a joke.
