abintraphoto 0 Posted February 5, 2004 Memories indeed ......... I grew up down your way. Spent many a 4th of July on the Port Bolivar side of the ferry . Ahh I love that ridiculous ferry ..... lol Where exactly was this taken Donna ? Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted February 5, 2004 This was taken at the Texas dike in Texas City. My first visit down there. Just exploring... need to go back. The ferry is really neat. As a child I spent my summers at Cape Cod and the beaches around Boston. The water is a lot colder up there. :~) Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted February 5, 2004 That's cool you got a picture of Texas City and not a refinery in sight .... ! Galvaston is surely no Cape Cod, but at night ................. they all sound the same ..... (-; Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted February 5, 2004 Galveston has its charm . . . Actually I did edit out a few oil derricks. Had to drive through the refineries to get to the dike. I felt like I had left earth and landed on some alien planet with all that weird lighting and those billowing smoke stacks. Thankfully nothing exploded. It does, however, look like it has lots of photographic potential. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted February 5, 2004 And the smell ........ don't forget the smell. Nothing smells quite like refined rocket fuel ... ! Yes, take advantage of what is around you ..... they look pretty cool lit up at night. Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted February 5, 2004 The smell did get rather pungent over a short distance. And I agree, it's probably a spectacular light show at night. Link to comment
michael_wagner2 0 Posted February 5, 2004 I would be tempted to entitle this "Mood Indigo". A very nice study in blue. Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted February 10, 2004 Very nice composition. I like the simplicity of it and the color works so well. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 9, 2004 The land drives nicely the eye to the fisherman, and I like the reflects off the rod, which we can therefore figure out. Link to comment
