jimmcnitt 0 Posted February 5, 2004 Hi Dave: The textures of the broken ice is nice, but what really makes this work for me are the reflective highlights you've acheived by shooting directly onto the winter sun. --jim Link to comment

robertbrown 1 Posted February 6, 2004 Really nice job with the exposure! Did you manipulate this (ND filter, PS, composite)? Link to comment
dave_k1 0 Posted February 6, 2004 I did use a 1 stop ND Grad filter. I adjusted the levels and used unsharp mask in PS. This did capture the scene as it looked. It was quit windy and warm (35°F). Thanks for you comments. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted February 6, 2004 Thanks for the information, Dave. I think this is one of your best--the scene is unusual (not postcard pretty), the lighting and textures are terrific. It's a photo I like better every time I look at it. Have you tried converting this to black and white? I think it would look tremendous that way, too. Link to comment
california-seascapes-photo 0 Posted February 6, 2004 You seem to have these snow scenes mastered, a difficult shot- especially while facing the sun. Outstanding! Link to comment
taner 3 Posted February 6, 2004 Beautiful landscape, congratulations. I am beginning to think that this lens is a must have - I have yet to see a bad landscape taken with it... Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted February 7, 2004 Dave, I think the technique is very strong on this photo. The lighting and timing are perfect. Link to comment
