hugh_hill 0 Posted February 4, 2004 Charlie, is a Scot and although he doesn?t like people in general he tolerates me enough to speak to me which I am privileged as I have not seen him talk to any others while I'm out doing my thing. This could possibly be because he sees me as one of his own, why not I'm on the same streets day in and day out both looking for something. I looking for messages within the faces of people that I come across and he combing the bins looking for interesting morsels on which to devour. Back bent as if from the burdens of conscience weighing him down and wearing him out. Charlie has no one and will soon die this winter, the next or one to come, ending up just another statistic in the paper we read in the warm comforts of our home, tusking about how sad it is that these things should happen in this day of age while eating a hot broth in front of goggle box. kslonaker 0 Posted February 5, 2004 A rather disturbing image. Takes a minute to figure out where the face is. As usual, a very interesting people shot. Link to comment

davidroossien 0 Posted February 6, 2004 Hugh thanks for the background introduction. It's interesting/fun to hear about your approach to street photography. It sounds like you take very much the same approach to street as I take to landscapes--be there constantly and develop a relationship with your subject. Explore the details and present your feelings/interpretation of the subject. This photo is another example. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but this is the impression I get. Link to comment
hugh_hill 0 Posted February 6, 2004 Thanks David, You are right 'familiarity breeds!'Constant places, constant faces enable trust/a relationship to develop and that helps for a relaxed environment and good conditions to work with. Regards and best Link to comment
