the homeless make for very emotional portraits. i think you had the right idea here but perhaps it would have been better if you had sat on the ground in front of her to take the picture and control your composition better. it's slanted. with this kind of image you can divide it into three layers, the ground, the slab with her on it, and the bushes.

I would also suggest trying it black and white.

Seeing homeless people is always upsetting.

Great shot overall, i dont think i could have shot it though, to me it feels intrusive..
