ljk 0 Posted January 17, 2004 A wonderful portrait, Kim. This guy [or girl] looks almost ethereal...is that an aura I see? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 17, 2004 The aura is from the effects I did - numerous in PS. The clouds were there, though and the giraffe's profile. I just added effects - didn't combine images or anything. Link to comment
sushrut_patel 0 Posted January 17, 2004 It is very encouraging to know that one need not travel all the way to Africa to take such pictures. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 17, 2004 There are zoos everywhere and sometimes you can get some "African" looking shots. I like this zoo because it's very big and open and the animals have a large space to roam, unlike some zoos where they are caged in smaller areas. Link to comment
hugh_hill 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Wow Kim, you are a real wizard with Photoshop I'd love to be able to create such fascinating images as you do yet I feel my learning curve has taken a nose dive. My daughter (Ruby aged 7) loves this also. Nice profile, well composed, skilfully edited, the eye in accordance with the dark background gives it an almost menacing appeal, a sort of 'Right you! You wait!' Animal payback time perhaps? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Hugh, the more time you spend "playing" in PS, the more you will learn. Of course, my problem is the "un-do" button because I never end up remembering exactly what I did to get that particular effect. I've finally starting writing down details. This one came out looking rather menacing because of the sky and expression and I liked the feel of it. Thanks for commenting. Link to comment
warren williams 0 Posted November 26, 2004 Kim, I live in Africa so if you'd like me to send a giraffe your way, just shout! Nice shot in general, but I do think the giraffe's chin could be neatened up a little. Give us a call if you want that giraffe! Warren Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted November 26, 2004 I love giraffes, Warren, so I'll have one. At least we have some decent places around here where the giraffes have some space to wander around and aren't tightly confined. Link to comment
