maria_s. 1 Posted January 24, 2004 can't blame you Beau ... it's everywhere. i have to restrain myself from taking pics of the steam only cause you make them look so good. Link to comment
k2 0 Posted February 5, 2004 well, i keep coming back to this picture and i wonder why it is getting such a poor ratings. as i stated before i find this image outstanding, and if i could keep re-rating is over and over again i would keep giving it the highest marks. some of those blind need to understand that rating is not some random button pressing. therefore i will explain WHY i think it deserves better. i look at Beau photo in context of his work. he has a whole series of images with steam ( i am jealous ) which are great, mysterious and very poetic. looking at them i see an eye that keeps seeking a new angle, a method of capturing this visuall phenomena, form an outsider's point of view to of an insider from within the mystery as it is in a case of the image above. so try for yourself, to see how "easy" is to "click" an image of a poetry within, with something of this nature. k Link to comment
beau 1664876222 1 Posted February 20, 2004 Thanks, K. I don't read too much into ratings; inevitably there will be people that don't care for what I'm trying to do. For me it's all about reaching the occasional person for whom the passion I try to put into my pictures resonates a little. When my work strikes a chord with someone who's got a great artistic sensibility, like you obviously have, it's all the more satisfying. Link to comment
jon w. 0 Posted March 14, 2004 Great. One of those images that simultaneously makes an emotional connection and asks a purely formal question that is about the limits of photographic representation (what is the minimum amount of information with which it is possible to make a compelling image that can be easily read and understood?).
