A blind beggar.

curra

An "almost" B&W pic to my friend Luis Arguelles. He says that I do the right pic. but with a wrong camera. He think i´d need a Leica with b&w film.

I disagree with your friend. I feel that the presence of color serves to emphasize the fact that, in reality, this really is a very monochromatic scene. That, to me, is part of the emotional power of the image. If it were in BW, I might assume otherwise. Anyway, excellent composition and a great work. My only criticism is that the shadow area under the rock might be a bit too overpowering in relation to the rest of the picture. However, I wouldn't crop that crack in the rock out. It's fantastic. Maybe just lighten that shadow a touch, IMHO.

Mark, after several months, I'm tired to fight against Marina about cameras, so I shall send her one of my Leicas for a few days just to infect her :). About the picture, I don't like a lot the partial "de-saturation" effect. Maybe you want remark some elements in the picture, but I prefer the other one you've just uploaded.

I agree with Luis about the partial de-saturation, it's a good shot ruined by this effect. Mixing b&w and colour as people do now digital is widely available is like the mad Cokin filter craze of the 70's and 80's.

Not sure I want the Lecia though, manual film winder, no auto bracket, manual focus.....! Good camera to use when you need to be discreet but that's about it. Ancient relics!

Some brilliant pictures in your folders Marina.

The original pic.

As you can see is "an almost bw pic".I didn´t want remark some elements in the picture........... it was just a present to Luis. I always prefer the colored one

Despite the fact that it's been altered, I prefer this one to the original shot. I just like the cool neutrality of the tone.
