max zappa 0 Posted January 8, 2004 A great image, well balanced. I like the emptiness of it. Fine work. Max Zappa Link to comment
notasitis 0 Posted January 10, 2004 The soft lighting over the snow covered street is beautiful. Without any car, and with a bare white ground, the sign posts looks like alien vegetation. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
sriram 0 Posted January 10, 2004 What a good picture! I like the composition, the subject and the fact that this is in B&W. Well done. Link to comment
stephane camus 0 Posted January 10, 2004 From what should be a not interesting sight under normal circumstances, you made a tremendous image and took great advantage of the night and the snow. Excellent! Link to comment
magic_rat 0 Posted January 11, 2004 Looks like you made all the right decisions. How 'bout some dev details? Link to comment
richard van hoesel 0 Posted January 11, 2004 Great image - reminds me a little of a miro but in black and white. My only preference would have been to render it on a less grainy film. Link to comment
akbar 0 Posted July 27, 2004 Very nice! Beautifully exposed in a difficult light environment. Very pleasant composition. Cheers. Link to comment
jvarsoke 0 Posted August 10, 2004 The emptiness of this scene throws me right into silent winter nights. It's wonderful in its absence. The geometry of the traffic signs along with the parallel tire tracks, and the arc of the turn all make for a pleasing visual. I only find that the sign on the bottom left is a bit distracting. Otherwise an enviable photo. Thank you for including your technical details including film on this photo. Very instructive. I wish you'd always add them to your B&W photos here. Link to comment
doctorbabaguy 0 Posted August 16, 2004 Very good but rather complex composition. I found myself forever trying to find something out-of-the-ordinary (such as a single pedestrian or a dog) in the scene...but it looks like there wasn't any. Some will say that is good--it makes you wonder at the desolation. Others might find that a disappointment. Link to comment
jordan_ryan 0 Posted August 17, 2004 So relaxing and serene. The grain works perfectly because it looks like a million snowflakes falling, giving a wonderful feeling of space. Link to comment
ray_willmott 0 Posted September 19, 2004 Wonderfull work - I find this almost disturbing - I keep looking for something that isn't there - it's cold, it's truely outstanding - I am jealous. Link to comment
andresborbon 0 Posted September 25, 2004 Beautiful sad photo. Love the grain of the 3200 Link to comment
geert_spanninga 0 Posted October 29, 2004 This photo has everything for me. B&W is perfect. Contrasts of snow, tracks, poles, shadows. You have made the ordinary into the extra-ordinary. Love it! Link to comment
