Alberto, this is an extraordinary good photo. It has everything you may ask, good DOF, contrast, sharpness, subject, setting, everything. But I am wondering why did you upload "old basket weaver #1", it seems some kind of photography lesson, the #1 is full of things that do not work, it does not look sharp, lacks detail, contrast is not good, while this has every thing well, are you calling our attention to the importance of mastering the technics?. I would be proud of this photo. I forgot to tell you that what is more important it conveys a meaning. Congrats.

Regarding version #1 I was looking for opinions on a different manner to see the same situation. I appreciate your opinion since, coming from a master of B&W portraits, it is very helpful to me.

Alberto ... I like this better than the other "Old Basket Weaver". The detail is more appealing to me, to put the subject into context.

I´m also with the majority here... I prefer this one, because appart from the toning, DOF, composition... I think that, as Luis commented, including some more of the background gives an idea of where she is or where she lives, and the way she looks does match with the old stoned walls...
