This photo was shot at Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market, an

indoor farmers' market and food emporium near the downtown

convention center. The subject was playing her heart out--mostly

tunes from the "great American songbook"--in the back of the place

near the walk-in coolers and public lavatories. After a couple of

hours, she emptied the glass of its dollar bills (amounting to no

more than about twenty bucks),put her sheet music in a bag, closed

and padlocked the piano and left. Your comments will be appreciated.

Thanks.

This is a good image that creates a good feel for the subject in action. The only things that bothers me are the foregorund elements on the left side; both the padlock and the out of focus side of the piano. It just seems that these ened up a bit of a distraction from the subject.

I like it. It feels very "national geographic" to me. It might be a lot better if she were looking into the camera. The lock in the forgeround is both distracting and interesting.
