Some have already seen the two previous shots in solarize mode and

sepia mode. Here is the "normal" mode photo.

TC, I like this a lot, suggest a very little lightening of the tree because i think the green would be interesting -- at least as an experiment. Thanks for your comments on my Oakland Nighttime. You are absolutely right about the lack of focus, and i didm't post it for awhile because of that. I'd like any tips you've got -- this was nighttime, on a tripod focussed on the tower, using a ten second delay on the camera, settings roughly 2 seconds at 5.6 aperture. Don't know what else to do for focus, and i was disappointed with the results. Tried another day with a variety of settings, with similarly disappointing results. Any ideas?

I'm no expert, Ben. However, if it were me, I would seek knowledge from Gaetan Chevalier. He is a PN member and if you'll visit his portfolio, I think you will understand why I would look him up. His night photography is really well done. Also, keep an eye out in critic circles for photo's in top rated photo's section. You will find many who might could offer valuable insight and who also will have techinical details available with their photo's.

I hope this helps! :)

Funny, I have seen all the versions of this, the panels are very nice, but for some reason, this is my pick, traditional perhaps, but a clean, and stark view of the Oregon Winter, reminds me of my time in Lafayette....Well done, and thanks for your comment on "My Home Town" *R*

No problem, Roger! Your hometown photo is excellent. I'd be getting that over to your town leaders for marketing purposes.

You're funny! I see you know how difficult it is to get a good sky shot out here. Boy did I have to plan this shot well. I waited and waited and waited for the perfect cloudy day. I knew it would be important to getting the backdrop for the tree shot I was hoping for. It's amazing how beautiful our skies are on a cloudy rainy day. The layers are so cool. Until I moved here, I never knew how many shades of gray there really are. And, I'm sure I haven't seen them all yet.

Thanks for commenting!

I really like this shot... Theres this sort of eerieness that really attracts me to it... Maybe it's because I like skies, they are SO great! How did you manage to get a blue colored sky like that? PS? Special filter?

WHat I'd like to see is a shoot of this using digital blending... I don't know how it'd get out, maybe it'd ruin the shopt, but it could be interesting too! ANyway, still a WONDERFUL shot! Thansk for sharing it with us!
