Well, I'd like to think you accomplished your goal just by clever use of the camera, but if you used PS it looks good. I'm pretty useless when it comes to PS work. Looks like there might be some shadow and colour enhancements. Any hints?

Hanna, my original rose picture was really pretty so that's step 1 - having a good starting image. I then did some things with the channels, created a mask and layered my green (I think) channel over the original and chose pin-light. Then I used the render/omni filter, with the texture feature and then did it again without texture. I also darkened most of the original background. Here is my original rose picture with nothing done....

Kim....Thank you for your comment on Lilly vs PS, I did something wrong on the download and can not see the comments but went to your site and read what you had said, from the hint on my Cactus shot, does that make ANY sense ? Any way, your work in PS is legend, and I hope to see more of your work ! Well Done ! *R*

Your layering and color work really brought out a whole different set of detail. I will be watching you for this process. Very creative and clever work. I like it much!

Okay, that was clear as mud, thanks Kim. My PS skills are severely challenged, and after two years of photography I'm still working on understanding the camera. But more power to you and photoshop. It's an interesting result.

If you just keep playing in PS, you'd be amazed at what you can do. I got a book for Christmas, so that's where my experimenting with layers and channels comes in now. Up until then, I had NO idea what people were talking about when they mentioned using them. It's opened up another whole new world for me! :)

Very nice. The f/g vs b/g contrast is great.

The only change I'd make would be to lighten

the top of the flower (if that is what it is)
