Hummer

My favorite of all birds. Can you believe that Hawaii has none?? This is one of the few non-flight captures that I really like of them! Great colors and detail. Nice capture!

Vincent, I'm sure your other birds in Hawaii more than make up for not having hummers!! :) This little guy stuck around for months on end and I actually saw him again the other day (in January!) and had to quickly make more food. He likes to eat and then perch on the branch. I haven't gotten too many flying shots of him I like, but was able to get numerous perching shots, which is kind of odd for a hummingbird. Thanks for stopping and commenting, Vincent and Alec!

Bird shots take a lot of patience, but the reward is shots like this. The more you sit and wait, the more the birds come to trust you won't hurt them. Thanks for viewing, Sarah.

This is a great capture of a male Broad Billed Hummer. The background is cold--appropos for the coldest month of the year around these parts. I would crop close to the bird, but I like this VERY much!!

Another excellent photo. I love the clarity in this photo.
