vincetylor 0 Posted January 4, 2004 My favorite of all birds. Can you believe that Hawaii has none?? This is one of the few non-flight captures that I really like of them! Great colors and detail. Nice capture! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 6, 2004 Vincent, I'm sure your other birds in Hawaii more than make up for not having hummers!! :) This little guy stuck around for months on end and I actually saw him again the other day (in January!) and had to quickly make more food. He likes to eat and then perch on the branch. I haven't gotten too many flying shots of him I like, but was able to get numerous perching shots, which is kind of odd for a hummingbird. Thanks for stopping and commenting, Vincent and Alec! Link to comment
sarah marie jones 0 Posted January 6, 2004 Kim this is quite lovely. I've never seen a humminbird perching. Your work must require enormous patience. But here the result is superb. Nice work ! Best regards, Sarah Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 6, 2004 Bird shots take a lot of patience, but the reward is shots like this. The more you sit and wait, the more the birds come to trust you won't hurt them. Thanks for viewing, Sarah. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Still experimenting with b&w backgrounds on some of my bird shots. Comments? Link to comment
michael_wagner2 0 Posted January 8, 2004 This is a great capture of a male Broad Billed Hummer. The background is cold--appropos for the coldest month of the year around these parts. I would crop close to the bird, but I like this VERY much!! Link to comment
