Wye Marsh, On.

LenMarriott

From a field trip June, 03, a photo of, (what else?), a FIELD! f16, Auto exposure. Layers of vegetation & colour attracted my eye. Best, LM.

Ken, A bad day of football is better than a good day at work :) (applies equally to fishing or photography) Best, LM

As you describe it is exactly how I see it Len .... attractive layers of vegetation and color. I might be inclined to play with the contrast and saturation - increasing both just a bit.

Ken, It's purely subjective, I know, which one you prefer, but here is a sample with increased saturation & contrast. I would love to have waited a bit for more dramatic backlight but the sun was setting behind some clouds & it was either this or even flatter lighting. Funny, how some scenes that look like a masterpiece when you trip the shutter have become something less when you go to show the result to someone else. Best, LM.

It's a beautiful place isn't it? I was fortunate enough to get some spectacular shots of the rare Trumpeter Swan, a species that is on the verge of becoming extirpated in ON, maybe extinct (?). The Marsh is re-introducing them with a very successful program, and will hopefully one day take them off the endangered list. At first glance this photo appears to have some atmospheric haze, or unwanted colour casts, but at a second glance the colours are actually quite good. It does appear to be under-saturated, but Im not sure which way I would prefer. Both look fairly good.

Claude Monet could have painted this scene! I really like it..the mauve highlights really sell it for me...and the layers/planes. I like the soft effect which evokes a soothing feeling.

of course it looks a little different this week....

I hope the 24th field trip was not too frostbiting....

Mike, Hard to forget a plant\shrub that sounds like 'Big Mac' :) Hold that 'winter' thought. I might just go back there before the snow goes. Best, LM.

Very nice composition, Len. The soft, muted colors are very pleasing. I like the layered effect you have achieved with this.
