I am attracted to this photograph for several reasons. I like that I do not know what the subject is. It keeps me guessing about the object's size, depth, construction, etc. I think the exposure is quite good, having some deep blacks and some highlights. This highlights the textures and colors of the object (or objects), which are non-uniform and even broken in areas of similar texture. I also like the fact that the subject is centered, as the three dark holes keep my eye from landing smack dab center. I really want to know what's down those holes, so I'd like to see more light there. However, the photo probably wouldn't work as well.

I wonder do we have these all over the world, and do they look similar. At least in Finland these don't always look as good as this one did.

This is a fantastic image - great tonality and lighting. I have the DSC75 and always enjoyed the quality of images it is capable of.
