dave_k1 0 Posted January 3, 2004 Last nights sunset... at 3:55pm...5°F.. Turnagain Arm, Anchorage, Alaska. Those are moose prints going out towards the water. Link to comment
josep lluís grau 0 Posted January 3, 2004 Dave, VERY good landscape ! I like specially the rocks in the foreground reflecting sun light... Congratulations... Link to comment
ivan colman 0 Posted January 3, 2004 The snow appears blue !? A litle overexposure could help to make it white. Or some PS work. Link to comment
bryantrook 0 Posted January 3, 2004 I like both 'blue' and 'white' snow versions, but I think the blue one helps show the time of day better. Doesn't snow appear bluish towards sunset? Link to comment
dave_k1 0 Posted January 3, 2004 As far as the blue cast to the snow..there is no doubt that as the sun sets and rises and in many other lighting situation (if you are facing the sun or if the sun is at your back) the snow takes on different tones. Although I do like your version of this image as well, the bright white snow appears more like it would look in the middle of the day. Your comments are appreciated. Thanks Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted January 3, 2004 Dave, I love this one and the lighting of fg is just fantastic. One of my favorite from you. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 4, 2004 I like the "blue" snow much better. It definitely gives you more of a feel for the time of day. I feel cold just looking at this and am very glad I'm in S Texas right now! (Although I don't get a chance at those great landscape shots you're getting!). Link to comment
stevemarcus 0 Posted January 4, 2004 Really nice shot, Dave! And this is the way "skylit" snow looks at sunset on a clear evening, which you apparently had here. Link to comment
vuyisich 0 Posted January 4, 2004 I have no critique to provide. This is very simple and beautiful. I hope you had a THICK coat on. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 5, 2004 We have an interface of warm and cool colors--which would make it work whether the snow is 'naturally' blue or not. But the snow DOES pick up blue: the sky in this shot is blue /grey save at the horizon. It's great. Link to comment
barry_needle 0 Posted January 5, 2004 Wonderful shot! I think the original ("blue") shot looks the most natural of the two, but the ideal may be a less drastic desaturation of the blue, leaving some of the hue to remain? Barry Needle. Link to comment
crabseye 0 Posted January 6, 2004 The light on the tops of the rocks (foreground) really makes this photo special. Very nice work. Link to comment
carol_watson 0 Posted January 16, 2004 I'm thrilled to get to see your wonderful winter shots for the next few months! Love the moose prints! I really miss the pastel tones reminiscent of a wintery sunset. Link to comment
j_k11 0 Posted January 22, 2004 i like snow covered landscapes and most winter photographs such as this one. the sunlight in the background is great. however, i'm thinking....if you positioned the sun to the right (even all the way in the corner), so that we see more of the shadowy hills and some angle, how would that look? anyway, good photo Link to comment
phalvorson 0 Posted June 2, 2004 The light on the rocks is what got my attention. Great job. Link to comment
