Blue Dawn

ronnie gaubert

This is a pre-sunrise shot at Lake Martin, Louisiana. Exposure was 15 seconds @ f/16. It was windy so I used a long exposure to flatten out the water. Image Date: 1-2-04 @ 6:55am.White Balance was set to Auto-1 and a .6 ND filter was used to balance the image.

Playing around with long exposures (15 seconds) and low light. I

find the fog added a mysterous element to this scene. White balance

was set to auto-1 on my digital camera. A .6 ND filter was used to

balance the light. Comments welcomed.

This is stunning for several reasons. One is the color and tones, second is the mood it gives off. Im not sure Im stunned by the composition, but the other elements are able to over come those obstacles.

Very unusual colors. It looks like toned and presented on some kind metal (steel) plate, but definately it isn't. Great shot.

Very nice shot. Tecnically speaking, I use a Minolta A1 Dimage and when I do do pictures with long exposure, I have a lot an unavoidable "noise", even with low ISO. Do you experience the same problem with your D100?

This is a really nice shot. I didn't know it could "look" this cold in Louisianna! Very nice. The tone is sweet. I'd like to see it as a panoramic shot (perhaps cropping a little from the bottom). I know that wold cut the tree shadows off a bit, but I'd love to see it that way. Well done. Joe Orsak (6/6)

Beautiful. I really like the effect of the exposure. Great choice on the time of the day as well.
