terry_belanger 0 Posted January 2, 2004 of your people folder..this is the best one...I see you opened up photoshop and monochromed the tree(maybe) and background. this pictures captures the spirt of the boy.. is the boy family??? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 2, 2004 This is my husband's nephew. He is a very mischievious 6 year old. His recent portraits taken at a studio didn't come out very well - he and his sister refused to smile at all and only clenched their teeth. My sister-in-law was delighted because I gave her two framed pictures of her kids for Christmas, captured in completely spontaneous moments, like this one. I prefer candid pictures whenever possible, rather than posed. This composition had a bright green background that I thought distracted from the little boy. Converting to B&W seems to work well with situations like this. Thanks for viewing and commenting, Terry! Link to comment
bille 0 Posted January 3, 2004 A very nice portrait, I think, and very effective use of selective desaturation. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted January 3, 2004 You out did yourself. The "X" like compositon of the boy and the tree keep you in the frame. The B&W was the right choice and your sister-in-law owes you one for this. Best Regards, Howard Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 3, 2004 Actually, Howard, this wasn't one I gave her (only played with it yesterday)! I gave her a couple of sepia-toned head shots only that she can hang in her office. Might do this one as an "extra". Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 3, 2004 A candid shot of my husband's nephew, who won't cooperate for studio shots! Changed background to b&w because it was too bright and distracted from the face. Comments? Link to comment
jennifercatron 9 Posted January 3, 2004 nice shot. Very well organized, lines are nice. Expression and pose are nice as well. Colors are deep, focus is well done. Nice shot. Link to comment
