jayme 0 Posted January 3, 2004 I've had this in my folder awhile. Never placed for critique, however, several comments from others suggested I crop a little on the left, so I did and I like it better too. Thank You. I like constructive criticism, but I'm fairly new to this board and serious photography in general. I know I'm not a professional photographer, tell me something I don't know. Thanks Link to comment
kenb 0 Posted January 3, 2004 Nice framing , the subject has been well isolated from the background and the unusual position for taking the photograph has produced a striking composition. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted January 3, 2004 While the background could perhaps benefit from being a bit more uniform (no white lines), that's a nitpick. This is very good: interesting viewpoint, excellent lighting which brings out both the form of the horse's body and the mane and whiskers with the subtle backlighting. There's a nice bit of movement (wind) and I like the bit of mane that's visible on the extreme right - it adds balance to the composition. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted January 3, 2004 Domonique, the white lines were Burch trees way far away across a large pond, compressed because I was using a 28-300mm and was standing at least 20-30 feet( maybe more) from this big guy. He was not particularly happy to see me invading his space. He was large I was small! He was eating, and I was glad it wasn't me. I agree, the white lines should go. Link to comment

karen habbestad 0 Posted August 3, 2004 this is a beautiful photo Jayme. Fabulous light, love the earthy colors, and nice positioning. super detail too. i could opt for a tad more looking space in front of the horse, but of course, that's just personal opinion. lovely animal and peaceful mood. phongkim 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Very nice backlite! Beautiful horse! Actually, horses all are beautiful, it's really up the photographer to catch them in the right moment. You did great on this photo! Best regards! Link to comment
