Barry, please feel free to re-rate this. I deleted it not because of your rating, but because it didn't give me the opportunity to request a critique for some reason, so I reposted it.

Made a b&w background to minimize the bright green leaves that were

on the lower right. The rest of the background was already fairly

neutral. Comments?

the color is not as good as the other one. But the composition and the detail are as strong as the other one. Very nice.

Kim, I really like the background and of course the bird, but something is not right with the foreground bottom right (leaves?). Can you ask the bird to come back so you can re-shoot? :)

Bryan, in the original shot, those leaves were BRIGHT green (see attached), which is why I tried the b&w background. I guess I could clone out the leaves altogether or just wait for another day. These birds are VERY hard to capture - I have more blurred shots of them than any other bird. They land and take off in a second! This one happened to be patient because a greenjay was in the feeder and he wasn't brave enough to try moving the bigger bird out.

Kim, I take back my previous comment "something is not right with the foreground bottom right". It looked to me like a PS mishap at first, but now I can see it is just from the shallow DOF on the bird only. Nice catch - I believe I have one shot of these very quick birds - a very blurry portion of it's tail as it left the frame...

Did some cloning and left the background otherwise, as it was. I also added a bit of a light effect.
