afterthoughts 0 Posted December 31, 2003 Normally, I don't care for Sepia toning on nature shots. This is the exception to the rule. Really nice work. You too must have visited the planet of the Golden People! Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted December 31, 2003 I like this one very much Kim. Great toning and the texture adds alot to the feel. What was the light source? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 31, 2003 The original image had light on the leaves (as you can see from the leaf shadows), but I also did some effects with various filters and lighting in PS. This is a technique that adds a "gold" look to the leaves that I liked a lot. Link to comment
hugh_hill 0 Posted December 31, 2003 I really like the texture and lighting it gives it an almost 3D quality. The composition & colouring equally impressive, You truly have the Midas touch. A Happy New Year to you Kim. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 1, 2004 I take regular, uninteresting leaves and add some effects to get this "gold leaf" look. Comments? Link to comment
jennifercatron 9 Posted January 1, 2004 Love the way you did this. Shooting a leaf and looking at leaves can get old sometimes, but you truly made this a piece of art. Nice job. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 1, 2004 Compared with for example your Dead Leaf picture (much more interesting) or your distorted flowers (colourful!) this doesn't do a lot for me. The leaves are good but I'm not keen on the ?metallic background. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 1, 2004 Barry, I say rules are made to be broken. This fits together well for me and I like the effects. With nature shots, it's hard to get the exact composition that's perfect, so you work with what you have. Thanks to everyone for commenting and rating - I know it's not for everyone and that's fine. I just like to present some different stuff once in awhile. Link to comment
