nightlight

Night Photo: I've rescaned the negative, removed the exessive grain in PS. Nothing has been added in this photo in PS, only removed, the lamp post. My first ever night photo, exposure was 15seconds on a very foggy night. The lamp was in the middle of the branches of the tree, thats why this neat effect came about...Added: The red stumps are because of the sodium lamps behind me, they made the stumps go red due to Kodak film used.

I understand everything I'm looking at except the bright red fence posts and the color of the sky. Help me out.

you said this is "your very first night photo", and you didn't enhance with photoshop, I think I'm gonna have to call BULLSHIT on this pic. No one took this pic as their very first night pic ever... wtf.

Rob read the tech details, I said I removed the lamp post in PS and thats pretty much it. Everything else is legit. And YES it was my first ever night photo. Fluke I guess :)

An attractive image with a very interestubg effect. You prompted me to try it myself. Thanks for providing all the PS background, i appreciate and I do hope that more PN members provide as detailed background information like you do :)

Sorry for my fiery comment from before, I was drunk. It really is a great image, I probably just said it is bullshit because I am jealous, very great pic.

I've tried to get a similar effect, and I think you've hit the secret- fog. Without it, the light isn't diffuse enough and overpowers the tree. Great eye and great job.

Re: earlier post-Drunkeness is no excuse for nastiness. The colors (red-shifts...) are perfectly normal for night photography. You don't need photoshop to make an image look unreal.
