101 Uses For a Sleeping Dog - #32 (or Why I'll Never be a Cat Person)

I took this picture with both the natural light coming through the shade and the on-camera flash, and while the flash one gave better DOF because I was able to stop down further, I liked the light in this one much better. I think it gives a dreamlike quality to the shot, and don't think Taz's face being out of focus detracts from it. Had I known I would have had time to set up a tripod though, I probably would have to get more DOF. My son was actually asleep here, and it was about 30 minutes before the dog finally got fed up and moved. If they could breed a lab that doesn't shed, you'd have a perfect dog (perhaps the Labradoodle comes close, but I can't afford to have one shipped from Australia).
