A great documentary image. Very moving. I guess not many people are aware that in plain 21st century there are still hermits living in caves. The framing couldn't be improved. This way you show us the environment as well as the person.

Me gusta mucho ese color tan vivo que destaca sobre el tono del terreno, y también esa cruz. Te subo una versión recortando un poco por arriba. Es una pena que no hayas cogido la cruz entera ¿o si?

you have captured a moving image. composition is an important thing to remember, as one of our friend suggests, but I know everytime you don't have time or space and that way may miss a good moment. I wish to see more uploads if you have of their life. regards.

Wonderful picture! Pheraps I liked it more if the cross wasn't cut... but may be a your interpretation on religious theme, I think.

the color of the monk's skin it's similar to his home, like if he was made of the rock in which he lives, patient and faithful until the end of the days... this photo gets directly to the heart.

I would have preferred to see the entire cross, imho.

Marina, this is a captivating insight into this man's life. The yellow is superb in balancing all the cool earthtones. Just a bit more depth would have made the rock sharper but it's a small detail. I do agree with the cropping suggestion to bring him in from the edge a bit. Very well captured as are so many of your other human studies.
