marlene_degrood 0 Posted December 20, 2003 Gary this is a wonderful composition! You have managed to make the tree in the background the star of the scene while keeping the viewer mesmerized by the foreground. Great lighting and great tones! Link to comment
gilbert_fortier 0 Posted December 20, 2003 Very nice B&W picture! Nice almost left-right symetrical background with nice foreground too! Link to comment
brentlossing 0 Posted December 20, 2003 I was going to comment on your photosop skills w/ the tree larger than the mountains - then I saw the not manipulated! Amazing! Very Well done! Link to comment
mnigro 0 Posted December 20, 2003 This is a perfect image. I especially liked your comment about technical details with Photoshop. Too many photographers seem to have a guilt complex about Photoshop. Many seem to think that using Photoshop reduces photographers to lowly graphic artists. This is bull. Any tool that can enhance an image should be used without reservation. Photoshop has freed me from tedious hours in a darkroom breathing the fumes of noxious chemicals. Link to comment

berniek 0 Posted December 22, 2003 Nice work. The photo would be stronger if the white areas on the foreground rocks were burned in, so they don't compete with the lone tree and its light background. Link to comment
leighperry 0 Posted December 2, 2004 A fine compositional balance, although perhaps the left side could be tightened a little. For me the main players are rocks and tree, with the highlight at upper right offsetting the otherwise stability of the arrangement. I'm not normally a fan of the split-tone look, but here it suits the bleakness of the scene. Nicely done. Link to comment
