diagonal lines on this work so well to lead your eye to the top and back down again...very good light on the ropes

Ship tied up at pier. Any thoughts?

This is a very interesting shot, and I love the lighting on the ropes.

 

It looks like there may be more detail in the ship's hull (I can just barely see the lines between the plates in this image) - It could be that my monitor it making it darker than it really is but it feels like the hull should be dodged just a little bit to make the patterns in it stand out a bit more.

On my monitor it I can see some detail in the background. IMO any more and it would detract from the abstract effect.

Great perspective ken. How about adding a nice friendly little rat running up the rope!

Simply "Docked". Couldn't be more minimalistic. Classic and very "pretentious", I mean "modern", at the same time.

A quintessential composition, Ken. I like the selective lighting and especially the fact that, with a little study, you can make out subliminal details in the murky black. Well done indeed.
