Sailboats

I LOVE this shot!! You've done very nice stuff with it, too! Are you going to do a "sail boat" series? :-)

Hmmm..distorted sailboats? Actually, Lou Ann, I think I've done enough of the "series" for now. This will be an individual treatment on this one image for now. I was just playing (as usual) and liked the way this turned out.

I guess I wasn't even thinking "distorted". LOL!! :-) I just noticed that you've got several nice images of sail boats that you've done some stylistic stuff with in PS ... and they look great. Just wondered if you were going for a theme. :-D

No, I was thinking of doing a distorted sailboat series - just for a split second, though! :) I like the sepia look on the boats and water. The water usually isn't a nice blue, like in your Sitka picture, so I have to do something to it.

Very interesting shot Kim,

The bollard promenade, upon which two seagulls perched & peering into the horizon.

The boat coupling to the centre right as if in a merry dance and the picture dominated (meant in the best sense!)by the sail boat with working deckhands with what appears to be the sun just setting over the horizon, yet what really makes it for me is your use of texture, I do not know how you obtained it, but I do like it. (Very much so.)

 

Thanks for viewing and commenting. I can't remember exactly what I did (as usual, when I work in Photoshop - need to start taking notes). I believe I started with sepia, of course, and then used the render filter. The original shot was "nice", but just nothing special so I played. :)

The original was a bit plain - no great lighting. Played a little in

PS and liked the effect. Comments?

I like it! Texture is great. Tone is great. Good clean lines. Good detail.
