The beauty of Hanoi in the cool morning of December. Shot with

polarising filter to get the vivid colors. All comments and ratings

will be highly appreciated and I will visit your photosite as well.

This is lovely. Fantastic reflection and nice, vibrant colors. Are those clouds real? :) They look like marshmallows! I also like the angle in which this was taken. Great capture!

Thanks Lluïsa Obrador for commenting against Gatis. Sometimes I wonder how people like him can rate others when their own photo-site is so simplistic.

This is a nicely composed shot. I like the reflection of the supports in the water to give them a bent look. Rule of thirds used nicely. well done!!

In my opinion, it's balancing on that edge between a composite and a processed photograph. I can't believe the clouds were present as they are, this type of cloud can't hang that low as to envelop the branches. Foliage lighting is too diffused for this type of day. Don;t know why, but it does bother me as a viewer - if the author would make it more obvious it's a composite, a mix, I wouldn't trouble questoining it, I suppose. Then again, it's not for nothing that all composite tutorials spend all this time on correct shadow arrangements and relative brightness...

There are many low lying clouds in Asia especially in high attitudes. Excellent composition and lighting. An ordinary scene made superb.

Ha! Sorry Alec, but you can't get away with that sky! This bridge leads the Ngoc Son temple on the North side of Hoan Kiem lake in the middle of Hanoi city, not much higher than sea level. Nice try though. Too much blue in the sky not matched by the blue in the water.

The trees on the shore have been very heavily cloned. The only portion of foliage that appears to be unaltered is the clump at the far right side of the frame. One glance at the reflection will tell you that the sky in the top portion of the "photograph" is not the same sky reflected in the water (as someone noted earlier). I don't have a problem with Photoshop manipulations if the photographer is honest about those manipulations, but your assertion that this was "shot with polarising filter to get the vivid colors" is an apparent attempt to deceive your audience.

If you look at the details column carefully there is no mention that the image produced is unmanipulated. Only the clouds has been composited into an otherwise plain sky (as you can see from the reflection). I apologise if it cause any confusion. Then again, many of the best shots in top photo galleries are PS manipulated. Please read the details.

There is a lot of difference between post processing and manipulation. Yes there could be many photos in here which are manipulated, but it requires a lot of skill to be able to do a good job. It appears as if you are still climbing the learning curve and it shows rather clearly in your digitally manipulated photos.

Hi Ramamohan Pai, for a person who has 57 postings and only 2 ratings of 12 and 16 (very simple shots I might add); I believe you have a much further way to go on the basics of photography.
