aepelbacher 0 Posted December 9, 2003 This is also one of my "top 5" favorite shots from Alaska (I'm using it as my wallpaper on my computer at work). My only frustration with this one is that I wish it weren't taken from a lower vantage point, but more at the eye level of the eagle. Link to comment

bentes_world 0 Posted December 9, 2003 Well well done. Nicely detailed and pretty sharp on the eyes. Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted December 9, 2003 I like it this way. It is a little different and gives a three dimensional feel to the portrait. Very nice job. Link to comment
bryan olesen 0 Posted December 9, 2003 I like your vantage point. You generally have to look up to see/photograph them anyhow. Doesn't look like it was shot looking down in a rehab this way. Very nice details, exposure, crop. I find it tough to get the details in the whites, but you did well. Link to comment
WJT 627 Posted December 10, 2003 In my opinion, this is one of your best, if not the finest, photographs to date. Your POV actually reinforces the strength symbolic of this raptor. The background perfectly isolates the subject without distraction. Your composition has a dynamic intensity complimentary to this wonderful creature. The exposure is fine. The overall layout is very good. If it were mine, I would apply a touch more USM and tone down his crown a bit. It is a photograph transcendant above the average. Well done! Regards. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted December 11, 2003 I agree - one of your best! The bird is sharp and that gaze is penetrating, even though it's a side view. Nice work! Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 11, 2003 Lou Ann, I think the angle is just fine, and puts him in his place. I have a pair of these that regularly perch in a tree in my garden, but I can never get such a clear view of them. Will have to climb on the garage to compete with this. Last Christmas day the male landed with his dinner (looked like a goose) and feasted on it in full view. But it was drizzling and my lens wasn't powerful enough to get a decent shot... boohoo. C'est la vie. Link to comment

Hanna ... please don't hurt yourself trying to compete with this! Your entire portfolio has any one of my images beat, hands down!! :-) LOL!! Thomas and Walter ... what's this about matrimony and stolen images??? Thanks again all!! Link to comment
