Now THAT is an arm!

The whole orangutan - unmanipulated.

Man, I love orangutans. They look so blase about their dexterity: "Yeah, I can hold myself up by putting my foot over my head and holding on to a branch. So what? Can't you?" This shows that perfectly.

 

I've seen estimates that they're going to be extinct in as little as 10 years. I can't tell you how sad that makes me. They're more precious than any jewel, because they're more fragile.

 

Anyway, good composition, contrast, color, and DOF. I like.

James, I could have stayed here all day, taking pictures of the orangutans. They have so much personality and are fun animals to watch - they are so human-like. It makes me sad, too, to see them in zoos.

I was lucky enough to get some great orang pics a couple years back... they are perfect subjects!
