This is my first post after having major problems with my monitors

color. I just purchased the Colorvision Spyder and have calibrated my

monitor and feel I trust it, but would like to hear how this looks to

be certain. Whether there is any color cast, brightness problem, etc.

I like color saturation, so used Velvia on this and have increased the

saturation a little in PS.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for the comments and ratings so far. It is also nice to know that hopefully my monitor issues are hopefully straightened out.

MK- I am using a Nikon Coolscan IV- LS40 scanner with Vuescan. Yes, I like the scanner, but am ready to upgrade to the 4000 DPI model. They have 3 new models that should be available soon and are already selling in Europe, so I will probably just wait for them to arrive here.

This gives more details if interested.

Perfect photo! I wonder what colors you would have come up with using a Blue and Gold polorizer or a Red Ray. Just other colors but no need to improve here!

Very good moment to press the shutter was chosen, from a perfect point of view. And I don't mind the saturation, it catches the eye more...

If you were trying to convey a mood, it worked. Color saturation was on the money for me. It is a picture I would want to show to others.

Steven, Well composed with deep, rich colours that 'pop'. Good idea to give presidence to the sky as that area is just full of interesting patterns. A fine result for your efforts. Best, LM.

As the cloud colors are not what occur in nature, I find the cotton woolly alto cumulus clouds distracting, and gimmicky, and the sky unnatural. The main subject, I think was the pier. If u mask off all above the first bit of blue sky, the pier jumps out at u and becomes the obvious subject. I would have tilted down the camera, and shot much more foreground with that beautiful golden reflection, making it an earthy pix..Right now the composition is not strict, and the photograph is not clear.. these are the two beginning ingredients for an extra-ordinary photo, not gimmicks..

Beautiful photo. I love it. Colors are wonderful. Hard to tell you if the colors are correct since sunsets cause such a wide variety of beautiful colors. Personally, doesn't matter to me if the colors are correct. it's a beautiful photo and a great capture.

Striking picture. It would be even better if you haven't darken the sky too much, so the orange in the sky is much darker than it's reflection. Besides, it seems that you have overdone the sharpening, too. Nevertheless, your portfolio is full of stunning seascapes.

I haven't seen yet that different sky, red, blue, pink, violet, magenta... at the same moment! You were very lucky being there..
