jxxxxx 0 Posted December 7, 2003 I like the contrast between the sky and the foliage, I only wish I could see more of the sky. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted December 12, 2003 Thanks for your suggestion Jon. However if I show more sky then it will mean cropping some of the foliage and river stream which I felt was more important to the image. Rotoura is an active volcanic area and gaseous steam from the ground is a common sight. Link to comment

martin_paul 0 Posted December 22, 2003 Beautiful colour and detail here. Love the smoke. Could be criticized as a little messy. I like it though. Well done. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted December 22, 2003 Thanks for all your kind comments. The smoke is unretouch as it is steam coming out from the ground. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted December 23, 2003 This picture is taken in the Maorie village of Rotoura, New Zealand, famous for it's natural thermal underground activity. The steam coming out of the ground creates a constant mist high in humidity and the natural cool air aids the pre-historic fauna here to florish. Link to comment
