Good question!

The exposure is 2 seconds at F 5.6. With my coolpix 5000, I know I can go at F 8, but I am limited to a maximum of 8 seconds in manual mode. The effect of nice light that I can get with my Canon G2 can not be duplicate with the coolpix. For what reason I do not know.

Night photos are for me much better with Canon G2 because much more shutter speed are available and at F8 the bright light effect are more beautiful.

arrrr i see i see...that explains it all...thanks for your interpretation...hehehe it's still a great pic though...initially i thought it might be better if no starbursts from the street lamps since they could be quite distracting...however it's only with a smaller aperture that the image could be sharper...ummm well these are the things that we need to weigh up when taking night pics....it's well done and keep up man!!! :))
