Faeries Dancing in the Mist

margaret_s.

Thanks to some constructive critiques and suggestions, I decided to go back to the drawing board and resubmit a completely new version. Here it is.. Linda, the faeries are dancing for you now! :-)

Margaret ... I love that you are willing to re-work and re-post your photos until you get them just right! I agree that you accomplished what Linda suggested. I kind of liked the heavy rain (snow?) as it's a bit more unusual than photos with fog. I'll also add that I'm not all too sure about the colors in the frame.

Lou Ann, actually Linda's suggestion was something I had contemplated but not executed.. so the change is in a sense more of an artistic adventure for me vs trying to get something perfect in this case. As for the colors, are you referring to the color of the trees? If so, the surreal colors are deliberate to create a fairy-tale feel and I do like them :) Thanks again for your comment.

Oh Margaret....I am totally enchanted! They add so much life and magic to the fanciful, yet subdued colors. I can see them dancing, but unlike fireflies who are out only on warm summer evenings, these bits of light and life light up the dark and stormy night. I never had a problem with the color of the trees...they are really just an enhanced version of color one sees in twilight. BTW, can faeries light up a dungeon?-)

I think Lou Ann is refering to the frame colors themselves vs. the image colors. And I miss the snow effect too but maybe a lighter application of it.

And while you're up, maybe you could get us something to eat while we wait ............ (-;

Thank you Kim!

Linda, I think we both know that wherever Light goes, it obliterates all darkness.. ;-)

Ken...did your arms fall off? LOL I'm sure you can fix yourself something.. and if not, there's always takeout ;-)

As for the rain/snow.. I'm going to leave this one just the way it is. I like it this way. Two versions I think is enough.. this one was fun to work on but it's time to move on to something new! Thanks again to everyone :)

Martin, I understand completely. It does have a very particular style that not everyone may like :) Thanks for your comment anyway - I appreciate it.

I love this photo, the colors and hues are perfect backdrop for the dancing faeries. I can see this hanging in my childs room, while I tell her stories about faeries. Do faeries dance in rain too?

Karen, thanks for your kind comment. Someone else who saw this photo said it would be the perfect image for a children's book. I need to see what it looks like as a large print, probably a lot better than the compressed JPG version! :) As for faeries, I think they are nature creatures... but they may prefer staying dry!

Wonderful work Margaret! I've seen these guys splashing out the Pixie Dust myself ... honest. Regards.

Those trees look like mini-bonsai... do you think that PNet's elves live in there?...
