November 24th low angle of the sun at noon in Quebec city give this special light on Chateau Frontenac.

A magnificent castle-like structure with copper turrets and stone towers, Chateau Frontenac is over 100 years old and a historic landmark of Quebec City. Situated on top of the Cap Diamant Cliffs in the heart of the old walled city, Chateau Frontenac overlooks the Saint Lawrence River.

I love the angle of the photo and the sun. The lighting is such that you don't lose much in detail on the shadow side.

Well done! :)

Wow, c'est presqu'un effet surreel! On dirait une scene d'un reve, surtout avec la perspective du chateau. La personne a la droite donne un gout particulier a la photo.. une ame perdue!

Just for the drat of it, I tried "straightening" and making the image more conventional. Anny response? I DO NOT think this is an improvement, I am just curious what you think.

Thank you all for your comments. It help me a lot in taking better photos.

Les thanks for your trying in "straightening" and making the image more conventional. In my works, I do not straighten my photos in general because I prefer to keep it as it is. Your work is very good but I prefer my original photo. I have other shots that would surely benefit to be 'straightened'. I will try to do the correction is some of my futur shots, but I do not find this operation to be easy.

well done. I've seen several images of this magnificent chateau, but none as nice as this one.

Visited once, all I remember is the bitter cold.

Having taken the exact same shot with a 21mm lens, I do not like the extreme wide angle distortion. The straightened version is preferable, although it seems to lack sharpness.

Hi!

I "straightened" this image using Andromeda LensDoc, a PS plugin. Whenever you do fairly extreme perspective correction, you do get some unsharpness, which I could not correct without introducing artifacts due to the low res of the file I had to work with. I often like uncorrected perspective, and was just curious as to how people would react on this one...

Beautiful colors, lighting and perspective. I thought also about straightening the vertical lines but I think that's better like it is.
