Usually, I do not like contrasts, but this time a saw interesting

lines and colors. Also for this picture I would be interested in

knowing for which audiences it can be exhibited. Thank you.

I do like these kind of contrasts, and really look for them as I take pictures around when in travel. However and as far as this picture is concern, the background seems sort of out of focus, not too sharp. It is a very good caption anyway. Tells you about a culture still thriving to keep up with their traditional values (black veils) while surrounded by consumism (a wealth of industrial hanks on offer). Very nice shot!

Contrast are difficult. Let me give you an example. let us say you mix a very old stylish building with a modern tower. Modern designers do a good job in order to catch the viewers' eyes. Very likely the modern thing will catch all the attention, and the old will not be perceived. The same happens with two pictures, one B&W and one in color. In my last exhibition, I had beautiful BW (triX old development chemicals) and others in color. People payed most of the attention to the more contrasty and colorful and they did not see the subtleties of the BW. We, human beings are like cats, we look at what moves and at colors. So is human perception.

For this reason, I put an effort in this picture to have the women on focus and the colors behind out of focus. A greater DOF would have killed the effect. Do you agree?

Manuel.
