Joshua Trees in Queen Valley

greglyon

Exposure was determined by Histogram. 1/400 sec @ f9. About 1/2 hour before Sunset. Very minor crop, curves, unsharp mask in Photoshop.

The whole image seems to lean a bit to the right. Maybe it's just me, though :) Nice use of the light without letting cause a lot of flare.

It's hard to tell from this photo, but the plain that the joshua trees are on is a big alluvial fan. It doesn't help matters that Joshua Trees usually don't grow straight up either...If anything, as I look at this, I may have it tipped slightly flatter, to the left than it really was at the scene.

Low flare was helped a LOT by the lens. It's my favorite lens ever.
