tm_j 30 Posted March 10, 2022 Thanks Greg and Verena! It's not bad for a $1400 setup (lens & camera) but as you mentioned before it's not much better (might be less) than my 8 years old Canon either, LOL! Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 453 Posted March 10, 2022 A beautiful image of heron in flight, very well defined. I do not know this variety of heron, different from those present in my region , ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted March 10, 2022 Grazie mille Giangiorgio! This guy is called a Reddish Egret and it's much more rare than other egret. In fact, it's more of a Heron than Egret from what I've read about it. One thing about this guy is that he's much better of a fisher than other Egret from my observation. He has a habit of extending the wings to cover up the reflection so that he can see the fish under water better. Link to comment

Bill Neubaum 9,294 Posted March 13, 2022 Hi TmJ, great shot of this beautiful reddish egret! I too, have shots of this bird that I got at Ding Darling NWR in Florida. I just up-loaded one called "reddish egret dancing". It was from 2014, using a canon 60D, 300 f4, and 1.4TC I really enjoy all your bird shots, Bill Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted March 13, 2022 Thanks Bill Neubaum! Glad you stopped by and left your thought, I enjoyed looking at your image of the Egret since it's so much different from mine. The surrounding background is so much different. Funny thinng for me is that I must have been to around at least 40 states of the US and at least 15 countries in the world (and live in quite a few) but yet I've never been to Florida . One of these days, I will have to get there since I"ve been hearing so much about shooting Wildlife in the Everglade .. ect. Link to comment
Bill Neubaum 9,294 Posted March 13, 2022 Just wanted to mention, if you ever make it to Florida, check out Ding Darling NWR on Sanibel Island (southwestern FL near Ft Myers) I'm from Pennsylvania, but love going to Sanibel. Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted March 13, 2022 Thanks Bill NeuBaum! Thanks for sharing the information, I googled for the website of the wildlife refuge and it looks awesome. One of these days I will drive East till I hit Florida for sure. Btw, I was once lived in York, Pennsylvania for a while and it was awesome (to a Californian like me). - https://www.fws.gov/refuge/jn-ding-darling Link to comment
