vincentoiseau 83 Posted January 10, 2022 Hi TmJ, very nice portrait, with a strange twist of the hummingbird's head indeed. Here, the Oly setup was yielding a good result. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 452 Posted January 10, 2022 This strange pose of the hummingbird reminded me of a well-known Latin phrase "Obtorto collo", whose literal meaning is "with a crooked neck". but which is used to indicate something done reluctantly, with bad grace , ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted January 11, 2022 Thanks Vincent! This is what HB does at times (stretch) and after shooting them the other day I decided to come back and improve the shot by cutting down the ISO and increas the f-stop to get the whole bird sharp with less noise. It works out great and the Oly's is the right tool for this job. Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted January 11, 2022 Thanks Greg & Verena! Took me a while (lookng at the picture) to see how you can view it as such, LOL! The HB tend to stretch like this now and then like a contorsionist. I get them to do this my making a 'tap' 'tap' sound with my tougue. Of course, they do it theselves also but the sound I make entice them to do it more often. Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted January 11, 2022 Grazie mille Giangiorgio! Now, that phrase Oborto Collo will stay in my mind every time I see HB stretching and I will also think of you. Thanks for sharing your thought! Link to comment
