Giangiorgio Crisponi 458 Posted October 20, 2021 Purple herons on the hunt - ( Ardea purpurea) - I photographed these two purple herons while on the bank they waited for the passage of fish. After a long time in vain, one of the two herons took off just as a fish jumped out of the water. At the time of shooting I did not notice the fish, I only noticed it after downloading the photos, it is a pity that it is out of focus. Nikon D500, Sigma Sport 150-600mm, f/6.3, 1/640 sec, ISO 1250. vincentoiseau 83 Posted October 21, 2021 Hi Giangiorgio, this moment you captured is unique! Yes, it's a pity the fish is out of focus, but you couldn't have prepared for this situation. Purple herons are pretty rare where I live, although I have photographed one now and then; it seems they are more numerous on Sardegna. Great shot! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 458 Posted October 22, 2021 Grazie mille Vincent for your nice comment much appreciated. Even in Sardinia, there are very few purple herons compared to white and gray herons , ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
