Giangiorgio Crisponi 452 Posted September 17, 2021 Thunderstorm - Violent thunderstorms with lightning storms have occurred in recent days. I photographed these lightning bolts from my window with interval timer photos, Nikon D850, Nikon 35-80mm at 40mm, f / 7.1, 10 sec, ISO 100, three photo fusion. Thanks for your comments Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted September 17, 2021 Giangiorgio, I knew before reading any previous comments 9including yours) that you had used a timer. The outcome is nothing short of spectacular! I wonder why the right-hand building didn't attract as many bolts as the other two. Regardless, your camera settings also made a huge difference, especially the use of a lens length of 40mm. Clearly the aperture and shutter settings accounted for the DOF and some sharp detail along the top edge. - - My best always, Michael - - - Ciao! Link to comment

Giangiorgio Crisponi 452 Posted September 17, 2021 Michael, thank you for your thoughtful comment and appreciation of my photo Apparently the lightning strikes the buildings in front of me, but luckily they were a little further back and are covered by the buildings giving the illusion of hitting them , ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted September 17, 2021 I am thrown aback by the beauty, the power, the intensity, the depth, magnificence of capturing one of Nature's tantrums. I am at a loss of words for this one-of-a-kind photograph, which IMHO should be in one of the TOP galleries in the world. I have never seen something so compelling and well arranged. My sincere admiration and congratulations. A must among my top favorites. DG P.S. I cannot stop looking at the image, and going back to it, as if it were unreal. One of the very delicate, exquisite details is the flash of lightning disappearing and appearing again, shaded by a cloud. Hmmmmm.....pure delight and exquisitness. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 17, 2021 Hi Giangiorgio, wonderful composite of thunderstorm photos that make the story of the bad weather come to life very well! The three high buildings in and around the center add some drama and balance. Very well done, both artistically and technically, maestro! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
