I stumbled upon this cross while browsing between the rocks in the Yukon tundra. There were also the remains of some kind of hut. Actually, even the walls were gone – just several old boards, can be seen in the ground, outlining the contour of the dwell

Unique image. The lighting is so controlled that it looks to be done in a studio. The clarity and hues of the near are striking against the softness of the background. Excellent work, Evgeny.

Hi Evgeny,

I really like this image! Not only does it lead the eye meticulously from the lower left corner to the cross via what seems to be a river bed to the high walls of the mountains pointing upwards into the sky, the balance between fore- and background is wonderful. The main reason it works so well is the difference in color(s), the atmospheric perspective; from the warm reds of the leaves to the cold blue in the mountains. The title is great too. Into my favorites! Kind regards, Vincent

At last, he or she was free and united with the wilderness, I am sure so many would envy him or her for this great place.

Fantastic and marvelous image.

This is religiousness. A true token/symbol of the delight of silence and loneliness, with exceptional technical elements and worksmanship. DG

P.S. With all due respect, the title tends to direct the viewer to you perspective, which is fine. If it had no title, the inner reflection on this perennial symbol could have been deeper and longer.

@Todd Kraenzel.

Thank you very much. This is a fantastic location. You are right. Never positioned that as a resting place, though.

Vincent.

As always, you got it right. You read me! Lead lines and color scene differences were intentionally chosen. Thank you very much!

@Daniel Gorinstein.

Correct me if didn't get you right. In regards to that cross, I never thought about the religiousness of that person or about religiosity in general. This might sound cynical, but for me as a photographer, this is a part of the landscape now. It belongs to it like another rock nearby, nevertheless that somebody's bad luck or fate or natural reasons lay behind that sad event. However, my purpose was to make the spectator thinking that somebody finished his way in such a terrific by its beauty place, where we can go for fun. That is why I named it a certain way. Thank you very much for such a deep interpretation of my image, I really appreciate your opinion. Regards, Evgeny
