I "admired" this work yesterday and came back today to say why. Pierre helped me understand. It conveys a feeling. The varying intensity of the dominant hue interspersed with a complementary hue sets up a resonance that excites and entreats you to explore beyond to sense the corridor, doors or whatever lies beyond.
