Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 30, 2021 Very good, Michael. The high contrast b&w turns the delicacy of the flower into something much more hard-edged and even vaguely threatening. I think I might back off the super sharpness of the flowers just a tad. Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted July 1, 2021 Jack, thanks! I've been trying to do better with both high and low key. Personally, I was happy with this image and its low key treatment. I'll take your suggestion, though. - - My best always, michael Link to comment

DGorinstein 20 Posted July 2, 2021 Not only beautiful but superbly crafted. I believe this is a great combination of subject, DOF, and masterfully presented in B/W. Bravo!! I dare disagree with my good long-time friend and unknowingly a photography teacher. I guess it is personal taste after all. For me, the stark contrast brings out the essence of where reproduction and creation take place, plus the added beauty of lighting and Nature's whims for creating millions of species in different realms.
