Jack, thanks very much for noticing what drew me into this scene initially and then to take the photograph. Quite honestly, since this occurred at least 7 years ago, I'm not sure if I was doing as much post work as I do currently.

walking in a deserted park can certainly be daring. This photo has a very pleasing composition, with the three trees and the man with the backpack just left of the middle one. Jack is right about the balance between natural and artificial light; it makes for a very special mood. I just wonder about the threat from what seems to be a giant chicken lurking in the shadows (just behind the left of the three trees). Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, your comments are always welcome. As I recall, I wasn't daring when I shot this photo. I've been in NYC so often that I feel like a native. From true native Appleites, I've learned that the best way to survive is not to look frightened (despite having huge mental jitters). As to the chicken, I had to investigate by enlarging the image. To me, the chicken turned out to be a crouching person. - - My best always, michael
