This doesn't, in any way, look like any subway exit I've experienced. Are you sure about the location, Jack? I'm confident that this man is taking a leisurely walk in a park. He and his shadow look quite content. Don't know about the other 2 people, though. - - My best always, michael

Hi Jack,

the man emerging from the underworld of the Osaka subway is either deep in thought or the Japanese version of Orpheus, afraid to look back and lose his love forever. The exit itself has a quite unique look , that I. like Michael, have never seen before. The grasses and other plants lend an almost rural look to this scene, that is urban and yet not typically urban at all. I like the shadow of the man and the fact that the other people in the frame are all looking away, which makes the scene look even more surreal. Kind regards, Vincent

Thanks Michael. A little bit of landscaping does wonders, doesn't it. This is definitely the exception here; most subway entrances are as colorless and drab as anywhere in the world.

Thanks, Vincent. Reading your comments always makes me take a second look at my own pictures, seeing them through your creative vision. Appreciate it.

Jack, you have an unseen follower. My son. Having visited Japan and Osaka many times he recognizes places you photograph. Yet I love the black and whites of this exceptional country.

Thanks, Herman. I've been a long time admirer of your nature studies. Give my regards to your son who obviously has excellent taste.
